CALL FOR ENTRIES |
System members,
Submit your entries
for the 2008 LCTA Krewe of Cable Awards, to be
presented in New Orleans, January 31, at the height
of Mardi Gras!
Showcase your finest work and the efforts of your
best people in the areas of community service,
customer service, and local programming:
• Two separate Local Programming Awards will be
given, for Customer Education/Image Local
Programming and Public Affairs Local Programming.
• The Community Service Award honors outstanding,
voluntary community service
• Customer Service Awards will be bestowed on cable
systems providing high quality, innovative service.
Up to six awards, based on system size, will be
presented.
Entry forms for all categories are included, and
complete rules for entries are printed on the
following page. If you have any questions, please

CATEGORIES AND GUIDELINES |
I. Local Cable
Programming Award
Two separate Video Awards will be given to recognize
achievements, innovation, and dedication in local
cable programming. Entrants for both of the
following local programming awards must submit
videos and a written description of the program(s)
submitted.
A. Customer Education/Image Local
Programming. Submit one (1) copy on VHS/DVD and a
written description of an original program designed
to educate your customers on cable related issues or
any that promote the image of cable television in
your community.
B. Public Affairs Local Programming. Submit one (1)
copy on VHS/DVD and a written description of any
original program that addresses key local, state, or
national issues such as education, crime, taxation,
drug abuse, politics, etc.
II. Community Service Award
Established in 1989, this award recognizes a cable
system for outstanding, voluntary community service
in their franchise area. The award carries with it a
$1000 grant from the LCTA to be given by the
recipient to a non-profit organization in their
community. A written description of the project must
be provided. A video is optional, but if done,
submit only one copy.
III.
Customer Service Award
Established in 1990, this award recognizes cable
systems that have excelled in providing high
quality, innovative customer service throughout
their franchise areas. A total of six (6) awards may
be given, based upon the size of systems submitting
entries.
IV. Programmer of the Year Award
This award recognizes and honors the work and
achievements of an LCTA Associate Member programmer.
Nominations for the award should be based upon any
or all of the following criteria:
Frequency of visibility to the System managers and
their staff; Efficiency, Creativity, Personality;
Industry knowledge and personal profile; Marketing
Initiatives; and
Support of the System.
Nominees must be an active employee or
representative of a current LCTA Associate Member
company (see www.lacable.com). Only LCTA Active
Members are eligible to submit nominations - limit
one per company.
V. President’s Award
This award honors an Active System employee,
non-management, who has made extraordinary
contributions to the system and/or the community.
The basis for nomination may be a cumulative look at
a long career, or notable accomplishments during a
single event. Employees who have distinguished
themselves through leadership, who have met and
overcome significant challenges, or who have risen
above their roles should be considered for
nomination. There is no limit on the number of
nominees submitted, but each nomination must be
signed by the nominator AND the highest level
executive of the system where the nominee works.

CRITERIA FOR AWARDS ENTRIES |
1. Must be an active
system member of LCTA.
2. Video Programs entered are for the time period of
January 1, 2007 through December 31, 2007.
3. Limit of two (2) entries per system per category.
4. Deadline for submission is January 11, 2008.

Entry forms for all categories are included. If you
have any questions about which category applies to
your entry, please give us a call at the LCTA office

Because we are aware of the excellent work that has
been accomplished by the cable industry last year,
we look forward to receiving “quality” entries. The
2008 LCTA Cable Awards will showcase that excellence
and justify the pride we all share in our industry.

Refund Policy
If cancellation occurs prior to January 23, 2008,
a refund of half the amount of total registration will be given.
No refunds will be given after January 23 for any reason. Sorry,
no refunds on sponsorships.
