COX NEW ORLEANS WINS NATIONAL FAXIE
AWARD
The National CableFAX “Faxies Award” were recently held at the
National Press Club in Washington, DC, with former CBS News
Anchor Dan Rather as guest presenter.
This year, Cox New Orleans was a finalist in 3 categories:
1- Community Relations: Volunteer New Orleans
2- System Annual Reports: the Cox 2005-06 Community Report
3- Media Event Category: The New Orleans Tourism campaign with
the Media Tour
Cox New Orleans was honored with a “Faxie Award” for their
Volunteer New Orleans campaign. Representing them was Brad
Grundmeyer, who was on hand to accept the award.
Additionally, Cox New Orleans' 2005-06 Community Report and
their New Orleans Media Tour both received Honorable Mention
awards.
Mr. Gundmeyer had the chance to speak with Mr. Rather about New
Orleans and his love of our city. Mr. Rather said that his
daughter, who is from Austin, now considers herself a New
Orleanian due to her frequent work in New Orleans after the
storm.
After the awards presentation, Cable Fax editor Seth Arenstein
took a moment to say some glowing remarks about the Volunteer
New Orleans initiative and its impact in New Orleans.
